This Is The Truth About Me

Knowing too well it brings me closer to my death,
I feel like I'm two people with different frames of mind,
And I don't understand why I fight it when I'm about to unwind,
But sometimes, If I reach in far too deep,
I can awake this creature from it's sleep,
I can rouse it to it's anger and rage,
I can torment it to attempt,
to break free of it's cage,
But it's stuck there, right inside,
It's buried there in some corner of my mind,
I can't tell people that there's this madness within,
Because If i did I wouldn't know where the hell to begin,
So I've locked myself up, I've held myself tight,
Whispering and telling myself that everything's alright,
Just hoping, praying that these thoughts don't spill out on the floor,
Because theres no way in hell then I'd be able to ignore,
So all the time I'm fucking teetering on the end of my tether,
I'm sorry but I don't think I can hold it together,
And everytime I try to spring myself back,
It isn't long before I get another attack,
So I'm sitting here, Distracting myself instead,
The only thing I'm sure of is,
There's something In my head. |
