(alternative) pretty girl ;)

because she never would have guessed
that little girl who everyone thought
looked cute with pig-tails in that pink dress
but now that shes grown up
and mummy had enough and moved away
daddy being all makes her wish
she doesnt see another day
confusion never hit her so hard
why does he do this? what have i done?
today shes nothing like the girl
who yesteday lived to have some fun
as a young girl all she wore
were pretty clothes and a bright grin
but now shes older and mummys gone away
now she wears a frown punched in
her sleeves had never been so damp
from wiping tears from her red face
and she had never wished so hard
she had never been left alone in this place
why did mummy have to leave?
and why do these mental scars have to stay?
daddy mixed with substances only beings hate
some love within this household would never go astray
smashed and beaten, battered and bruised
it wouldnt be the same if mummy were here
bruises heal but the pain inside doesnt
not to mention hating 'home' and living in fear
one day she felt a twitch within her heart
so familiar - this is how she used to feel
that day she felt the loving touch of Jesus
a love she KNEW was completely real
what joy she gained knowing He died for her
and that one day she will go to heaven
where all this pain and suffering will end
counting bruises would cease, she was upto ninety-seven
this love she had never experienced until now
this hope and joy and compassion she found
as she read the story of Jesus, she could relate
to being beaten and struck; physically and mentally bound
but as he died upon that cross
she realised a crucial difference with their pain
they were both innocent victims of a hurting race
and to save them all and her, was His aim
as she gave her life to Christ that night
her heart was touched almost immediately
to show this love she found in Christ
by forgiving- and still loving her daddy
now they both attend their local church
years past and a relationship has been made
between the young lady and her father
and God and Jesus and the Spirit -for aid
the mother, hearing of this new relationship
has become a part of it aswell
and they are now living proof that Jesus Christ
can help a family in need; a difference you can tell
as time went on and they left earth
one by one joining their Holy Father
each death brought celebration of the knowledge
that one day they would all be together
now all held in the hands that created the earth
not a tear will be shed again
because of the love that Jesus showed
they finally found a true friend |

this was originally inspired by the "Pretty girl" series by 'realityspam' -thanx for the inspiration. but then i added my own little twist on it, a bit of inspiration from "small town" by a band called 'Thousand Foot Krutch' where the hurting girl finds the love of christ and lives are changed like they so often are!
hope this poem hits your heart ;) JESUS ROCKS!!

| aww...it was so pretty. i was raised as a catholic but after i started using drugs and drinking i quickly lost my faith until one odd day i went into my local church and confessed my sins. it was the oddest thing but after that i got into rehab. but anyway that was after years of using. i liked you're poem alot. good job. oh and i don't judge you on you're religion
