» Poem: April Fool's Day
April Fool's Day
written by HitomiCherub
11:45 PM 4/1/05
I wake up in the morning
Wondering if I will be fooled
I am on my guard
For anything unusual
I tell my bus driver
What I wish could happen
And for once
I am not the one
Who was fooled
I talked, and talked
So that she would believe me
More, and more
And when I arrived at school
I said "April Fools!"
She was shocked
She was surprised
That she could be fooled so easily
By something she knew
Wouldn't happen for quite a while
My friend said "That was good"
And I smiled
I laughed
Knowing that I
Was the queen of April Fool's Day
