Pain of being apart

I hold my head high and try not to think that we're apart
This situation has become a burden and I wish it were not real
But the more I try to hide it the worse it makes me feel
All I can do is sit and watch as my happiness whithers away
The only thing that helps me cope is saying I'll see you again someday
