» Poem: Taught
Taught
written by XpaperdollX

Fear is taught,
Implanted in the mind,
As a child,
An undeveloped brain,
Bruised by those that say they love you,
You where taught to feel pain if someone hits you,
Thought to flinch when something comes at you,
So why can’t you catch?
Your heart races,
You’ve done something wrong,
Taught to grieve when you’ve lost a loved one,
Taught to cry when they tell you your ugly,
You fear what they want you to fear,
You feel how they taught you to feel,
Your life is not yours,
Locked in this cage,
Feeling so empty,
Because you where taught that way,
You do not control your mind,
As those who control yours do not control there’s.

Author's footnotes and comments on this Poem:
Not good at all..But it's just how I feel, as someone who is scared of needles there only scared because that's the way where taught, people fear things because that's how they where taught. In truth it's hard to say we contol are own minds.
