» Poem: Silent Asylum
Silent Asylum
written by YouSmileAs_I_Die

I'm clawing against these white walls

I'm trying to comfort myself for I am alone

As darkness comes again

It's quite here, much like the Songs of the Dead

Rising and falling in sullen unity

It's a haunting sound

My screams echo off the silent walls,

Mocking me, tormenting me, killing me

I can't run from here

For there is no way to run from yourself

I've tried a thousand times over

And you can see my efforts reflected in

The blood-stained walls

The scars on my arms

The chaos that fills my mind

It's watching me from behind the one-way mirror,

That blade that lies to me

I hear it laughing, or is that my own twisted voice

Calling out into the blankness of my solitude?

I cannot tell the difference as I sink into the terrors of my

Silent Asylum
