Silent Asylum

I'm trying to comfort myself for I am alone
As darkness comes again
It's quite here, much like the Songs of the Dead
Rising and falling in sullen unity
It's a haunting sound
My screams echo off the silent walls,
Mocking me, tormenting me, killing me
I can't run from here
For there is no way to run from yourself
I've tried a thousand times over
And you can see my efforts reflected in
The blood-stained walls
The scars on my arms
The chaos that fills my mind
It's watching me from behind the one-way mirror,
That blade that lies to me
I hear it laughing, or is that my own twisted voice
Calling out into the blankness of my solitude?
I cannot tell the difference as I sink into the terrors of my
Silent Asylum |
