Flying From The Dark. (Please Comment)

Waiting for everything to end,
I've masked my dark sides and bad thoughts,
Hoping no one would notice me.
I've tried to act like I'm normal,
Putting on a life long role-play,
Waiting for someone to realize
That there's more beneath my thick shell.
But when I try to fall asleep,
My mind opens Pandoras box,
I struggle to push demons back in,
As my brain peels off my fake mask.
I've spend my nights waiting for my grave,
Wishing to feel my old self again,
Praying for those days when I was five,
When everything I felt was love.
For years I've tried to bury myself,
Attempting to feel what I once felt,
Not the dark things I'm chained down to,
So that I can fly far away.
I just wish to be somewhere far,
Where no one knows of my fake mask,
So I can let myself be free,
And where my body isn't chained.
All my life I've felt darkness within,
I've just wanted to be alive,
I've wanted people to look past my shell,
And see that I'm still chained down.
I've wanted to peel my mask away,
And show people that I'm dead inside,
So they can see my dark body,
And know what I go through everyday.
I want people that will cut my chains,
And set me free so I can fly,
So I can swim farther than my tears,
And finally soar past the old me. |
