Courage

3Please don't turn and walk away
Give me another chance to say
All the things that are on my mind
From you, I no longer want to hide
I want to tell you that I'm in love with you
But I can't get up the courage to
Because I don't think you feel the same
It's not even that I'm ashamed
You don't even really know my name
And I don't want you to think I'm lame
But I am in love with you I suppose
How did it happen? I don't even know
I guess you could call it love at first sight
I think about you every night
I wish that I could call you mine
Because I think of you all the time
I'll go up to you and pull you aside
And tell you all the things that are on my mind
But once again, the courage goes away
And so do you, you decide not to stay
So I'll just sit back in the darkness and wait
Let the cards play out determined by fate
I love you though you'll never know
And every day, my feelings for you grow
So when you decide to look my way
You won't even have to ask me to stay
But for now I'll watch you walk away
Because I'm too afraid to ask you to stay
