» Poem: Winter's Dawning
Winter's Dawning
written by insomnia_art

Here, to be espied, the grace from a lilly’s defeat
Where, as sighed, two lovers dripped in deceit;
A yearning spring day from the peak of its awning
Winter’s first breath in an overcast dawning.
There, she gazed, her forlorn blue eyes
Hard as steel, forged in ice.

The landscape, so gentle, whispers to night
Tales where beauty and joy take flight;
A place for passion to ignite, as senses will delight;
So long his will for her to invite.
Upon the mask a tear does glide
Betraying a realm where pain does hide.

Her body lifeless, his stifled scream
As laughter caresses the edge of her dream;
And he prays and cries for all he has seen.
She sings seductively in a realm so vast,
Their time of happiness came, and past;
No gentle song of love was meant to last.

There sits his photograph lined in gold;
A sight for him so hard to behold
For it gasps and sighs in desperate pleas
Where he can rest at a place they’ll agree;
A yearning spring day from the peak of its awning
In death, winter’s desperate last dawning.

This has to be one of the most eloquent works around. This is why we have the fucking Society established! For this, we hail. For this, we create.
