The One You Could Of Saved

Wishing there was another way.
Then you found one,
But its already too late.
Left friends and family grieving
Even people you despise
Standing at your casket
with Red, tear-filled eyes.
Didn't really blame them
How were they to know
Couldn't look in your eyes
to read the depths of your soul.
They didn't see the pain inside
All alone you chose to hide.
Never opening your heart to them
Never willing to make new friends.
Just sit there and ponder it
What he did to you.
Walked away like nothing happened,
like you were someone he never knew.
He doesn't need you anymore
He probably never did.
Thats why you died,
To kill the emotions you always hid.
Died to kill his memory
Died to kill his spirit
Every time you were alone
You couldn't help but hear it.
Hear the promises he made
The times he made you smile
Oh what you wouldn't give
If he could just be near for a while.
But that'll never happen
Because to him you don't exist
And before you left for good
You sat and wrote him this:
"Guess i'm not good enough,
Guess you just don't care,
But i can't take a world like this
a life when you aren't there.
I've wrote this many times
tried to get to you
never had the strength to send it
but hopefully the message gets through.
Tell me what i did wrong
Tell me why you left
I tried to be the perfect friend
Because i know you deserve the best.
Oh well
its to late now
no need for answers
or in your case excuses
Don't come to the funeral
Don't visit my grave
Just remember all your life
I'm the one you could of saved."
He never saw it coming
He thought you'd always be around
but when he finally remembered you
You were already in the ground.
He got the letter
He read the words
He felt the pain
that no one heard.
He finally understood
But it was already to late.
He lived a life of regret
Knowing he's the one that set your fate. |
