Dark Wings, Dark Words
written by Niyaz03:36 AM 4/8/05Oh sweet the mystery that holds you in,
A single raven within flattery,
Oh lovely the doves that shall take you in;
A temple of friendship glowing for thee:
Friendship dims as lovely lights fade away,
A single stranger remains to meet fate,
A loyal friend stays at bay,
Little precious raven, you aren’t too late.
Foolish kin dare and pray of wings and words
Yet this innocent dove believes it not.
Shadows in shadows compose all our worlds
Yet a single ray of hope you have brought;
Between all this darkness you seem to stand
All I need to do is reach for your hand. |

This was actually an assigment for school. I was told to write a sonnet in which I described a friend so I did. Of course I didn't do it for the class for it was already late, yet I ended up liking what it ended up as. [ View Niyaz's Profile ] [ Go to the Poetry Portal ] This Poem has been viewed 530 times
