Hushed Child
written by TowelytheThing08:36 PM 5/7/04They say they know me.
Only I know me.
I am a hushed child.
We walk and talk in a group
And talk to all the guys.
But I just stand there quiet.
Not moving at all.
I stare blankly at all my friends.
And they all ask what I say.
Hushed child they say.
I don't say anything at all.
I stroke my hand across my necklace.
Staring at the guy.
Standing across from me.
He looks right at me and then turns away.
Hushed child I am.
I still look and look away.
And nobody even cares.
Hey! what do you think of that movie?
I twist my leg facing the other side.
And walk away.
Cannot talk.
Will not talk.
Hushed child.
Is what I am.
Come back they scream.
Whats the matter? they cry.
I stand there still.
I walk over to the guy standing across from me.
Wispering in his ear.
I am a hushed child.
There is nothing for me to say. |
