» Poem: Died In Vain
Died In Vain
written by brokenxsmile

You ghost haunts my dreams
More real than it seems
It replays in my mind
Time after endless time
I kept up that fight
Even though I knew you were right
And you slammed the door
I thought you'd come back for more
I heard the car start
And I just fell apart
I was more angry than sad
But I had no right to be mad
I wanted to apologize
To look into your hazel eyes
But you never came back
You went away, just like that
You were driving the car a little too fast
There was a sign, "Dead End", but you drove right past
You were full of anger; full of hate
You changed your mind a little too late
And you were lost in all the debris
At least I know that now you're free
I miss you more than ever
I'll regret that fight forever
I wish you'd walk through that door again
But you won't; you died in vain
