» Poem: Quiet Sunsets
Quiet Sunsets
written by Gistle
02:50 AM 4/10/05
The sky was streaked with golden and red.
A beautiful blend that swirled through the sky like mixed paint.
The clouds were dyed pink and the horizon was glowing.
A sparkling light shining on the ocean.

I closed my eyes and breahted in the salty ocean air.
One by one, small stars began appearing.
The light of the sun was fading silently.
Like light turning into a shadow.

I opened my eyes and looked out at the water.
The sun was now gone and the only thing I could see was a thin streak of pink light.
I looked above me and saw the stars.
So many lights togehter in one sky.

I stood up and took one last look at the light.
I had been so bold and lovely, then just disappeared.
Dissapeared like a light turning to shadows.
Like shadows forming from light.
And though the shadows are dark, they still have a bit of the light left in them.
No matter how dark they are, shadows come from a light.
And that light is always there, even if you can't see it.

Just like the sunset.
