» Poem: Inside The Psychiatric Ward (redone)
Inside The Psychiatric Ward (redone)
written by untidy_posession

Beneath the livid blank bright ceiling,
Delirious unbalanced walls trick the mind,
Frozen placid air, slowly, gradually stealing,
The disturbed space to which I am confined.
Lock on the door is loose and unfolds,
Begins to open, smearing my security,
Stepping aside, Letting me behold,
But freedom seems clouded with obscurity.
Lidless, I am alert and clutched tight,
Bare feet tread, falter and fall,
Hit the floor, Room out of sight,
Nails claw into the sides of the wall.
Cold stale surroundings, the chair,
Video camera stares down onto my face,
Atmosphere tense, Feeling scared and bare,
Curled up and locked in disgrace.
Minutes pass like hours, hours past like years,
Watching clocks every tick, every tock,
Nausea, brainsick, all is unclear,
Back to my room, Door,
Lock.
