» Poem: Rejected
Rejected
written by katiemariie
05:40 AM 8/6/04
Flashes of childhood spill into
Her every move
Influences all she does.
It messes with her mind.
If they loved me,
Why don't they write back?

Cold realization of their lies
Appears at a party.
She smiles and plays their game.
Nonchalance will avenge her.
Someday, we will meet once more,
And it will go back to the way it was.

Attempts at remembering the number
Prove futile.
She blocked it out.
She doesn't want to talk to them, anyhow.
They'll pay. I'll be famous,
And they'll regret want they've done.

Claims that he knows what is going on,
That he has been through the same thing.
But he hasn't.
The substitutes have betrayed her.
No happy ending for me,
No motives for after-school special.
