One Price Was Paid

to parents of scorn
no love for him
only hatred from them
bruises he keeps hidden
pain never being ridden
a mother on drugs
never getting one hug
a beating father waiting
his son always paying
siblings could care less
more pain, no rest
years come and go
scares hidden, others shown
confused as to why
he has this life
mind spinning, never still
times almost being killed
sees his way out
does it without doubt
parents angry he left
his life, their theft
passed out body found
rumors spread around town
who, what , where, why?
this little boy died
the truth soon known
true selves are shown
one price was paid
little boy dieing today |
