Tonight

I felt like I was dying
When all the time
I was only really crying
Like incessant raining
The tears wouldn't cease
Than you came along
And started to pick up the peices
Of my broken heart
As it lay shattered
You were helping me
As if nothing else mattered
When you mended my heart
You helped me up off the floor
And, hand in hand,
You walked me to the door
You smiled so sweetly
Like nothing was wrong
When I was looking for strength
You were what made me strong
You held my hand firmly
And you didn't let go
You really cared about me
And you let me know
You presented me with roses
My very favorite flowers
And you promised me the love
We had was only ours
You reassured me
Made me stop crying
It came so easy to you
You hardly had to try
Tonight I was scared
For a silly reason
But you held me while I cried
And waited until I was done
You dried my eyes
You helped me overcome my fears
And you stayed around, too
To make sure there were no more tears
You were there when I needed you
And you made everything alright
Thanks for cheering me up
And helping me through tonight |
