Water Ballet
written by wiltedrose02:02 AM 4/14/05Beyond the den of mortal men
Beneath the wind and waves
There lies a land of shells and sand
Of chasms , crags, and craves
Where coral castles climb and soar
Where swaying seaweeds grow
And all around without a sound
The ocean currents flow
Above the ragged reefs they soared
Exquisete and serene
Through the slanting shafts of sunlight
Tiny jewels of blue and green
Performing little pirouettes
Then sailing side by side
An everchanging ballet
Danced upon the turning tide
Beneath a sweeping canopy
of undulating hue
From wells emptied turquise
To the deepest midnight blue
The seahorse ballet rose and fell
A silent symphony
And all along against the backdrop
of a misty fragile sea
A tragic trade, the beauty fades
Leaving the show now gone
Forever to await the never-coming date
Of the tides of dawn
Another left dying so exausted from trying
To do their delightful dance
But the dawn won't come, the dance is done
Even if they had the chance |
