» Poem: Cold eyes
Cold eyes
written by sevenist_wanderer

I look into eyes so dark,
Grey eyes so distant and cold,
I gaze into those empty orbs,
And hear the story untold,

It was hidden behind fake smiles,
And false hopes and dreams,
These sad eyes have been through hell,
And came back to earth it seems,

Torments of love and loss,
And more of untold hell,
The eyes show pain though the face does lie,
And seems like all is well,

These eyes I see are full of pain,
Of never healing scars,
The soul who these eyes belong to,
Will never heal, they burn like the stars,

What could have happened,
to make eyes so cold and sad?
What could have happened,
To scar a soul so bad?

That is a foolish question,
The answer so close to home,
For I'm looking in the mirror right now,
These eyes are my own.
