Good-Bye To You

That everyone wanted to be
She had the perfect hair, the perfect clothes
No flaws as far as anyone could see
But she had her issues like the rest of us
Hidden somewhere below the surface
She kept her head up high for as long as she could
'Til late one night she just let it all go
She put that blade to her wrist
And pressed down hard
She felt her pain ebb away into an eternity of bliss
A piece of paper with a few words
And a few spots of blood
Was all she left behind
For the ones she loved
Sayin'

Pry this blade
From my cold dead hands
I'm sorry I wasn't strong enough
To take what this life demands
The millions of tears I've cried have finally
Taken me away
I hope that I served you all well
I'm sorry Daddy
But your little girl's gone to Hell
Robert was the one gettin' the all the laughs
But no one knew of the pain he held inside
He put on that smile and kept on jokin'
'Til the day his mother died
And his father turned back to the bottles
Of whiskey to ease her passing
His hand came down hard on Robert's head
And that was the night that he stopped laughing
He put that blade to his wrist
And pressed down hard

A piece of paper covered with hate-filled words
Was all he left behind sayin'

Their screams brought the doctors runnin'
But it was all in vain
They both fell victim
To their own endless pain
They were strangers in life
Now brought together in death, lyin' there on tables of cold steel
And left their parents cryin'
