» Poem: Lies
Lies
written by intearsforever

The tears I never cried,
Are what kept us together,
Because to you,
I was perfect.
You never saw the tears,
The scars,
The pain,
Nothing seemed to remain.

The words I said,
Were not from my heart,
But you couldn’t tell,
Because to you my heart was never torn apart.
The words I used,
That meant I love you,
Were not what I meant,
They were just what I saw you wanted.

But you couldn’t see past my eyes,
You never saw beneath my skin.
You didn’t see my soul,
My heart,
My spirit,
The scars,
You never saw what caused them.

You never knew of my past,
The past which I made sure didn’t last.
But regrets will fill your mind,
And you will find,
I was never who you thought I was.
I was something you would’ve never touched.

No one would touch me.
Not with all these imperfections,
Not if you saw my infection.
If you knew my scars,
The pain,
The life I live,
You would be all that would remain.

You would say I was pathetic,
Attention seeking,
And you would never let me forget it.

Shoot me now,
Because you were right,
I am pathetic,
I lie,
I hate,
I never loved,
Kill me as it was meant to be,
Save yourself,
And kill me.
