» Poem: I Left Life
I Left Life
written by twistedmind33

You held me close
And acted like nothing was wrong
Little did I know that everything was going to change
You kissed me on my cheek
Said have no fear
And slipped away
As the thunder slowly rolled in
And the lightning pierced the sky
I wondered if I caused the weather
Because it directly reflected my emotions
Disregarding the crazy thought
I walked away
Following your lead
The mud oozed between my toes with each step
I hated the place where I stood
I just needed to escape
The rain mixed with my tears
Only the warmth of the sadness could divide the two
There was only one reason for my decision
It may seem selfish
But that's quite all right
You left me
So I left life
