What Does it Take?

Tell me, what does it take to get you to notice me? Slitting my wrists, crying over you, trying to talk to you? Apparently that's all failed but how about my new approach? Writing soft flowing words in the somber tones of the night, speaking to you in the stillness only midnight can bring, writing in the language only the heart understands...Still that's failed me so far too. You're so wrapped up with the wrong guy and you can't see what's right in front of you. But you're everything that I wanted to avoid for so long and now you're the only thing that I want. How'd this happen? I honestly don't know. It must've been that time we slept off a hangover atop some chicken coups and he touched your hand while both of you stared me dead in the eye. I stared back, daring the two of you to take it one step further. I took a silent oath as I shook from my tearless sobs that I'd serve you better dead. I looked around, trying to find something to end the misery I've cause you all, but my eyes found favor on nothing. I hope you know all of this is because of you, I thought to myself as I glanced over my shoulder where you sat so eveloped in him. And again I wondered, what does it take to get you to notice me?
