My Love

I can not longer hold you up
Lightness fades in your eyes
But a glimpse of what’s to come do I see
I can not save what will be
No truth can bend the lie
Time has become the enemy
The hour is late
All that you were
Will vanish in the mist
Become but a myth of what was
My love for you shall not waver
But holdfast and true
Through all I will remember your name |
