giving up, this time for me

on being what you want me to be
to many lost hopes
to many forgotten dreams
beside myself so i can breathe
for once i feel like what i need is me
without you, im all i need to be
my old self is ripping at the seems
the blood is dripping as it gleams
shedding you so i can feed
my self you parasitic fiend
i'm my own army, i can lead
walking out on my past at the sound of a beat
for once i'm following my own feet
giving up this time for me
giving up on what you want me to be |
