Good-bye to You

Lies just you
And just me
Hurt and bruised
Feeling totally used
Nothing left but the mistrust
Failure of a relationship
We know fell apart and went bust
No awkward blame
That’s not our game
Both were on for the fatal trip
Thought we knew
Thought we could win
And beat the odds
Wanting that trophy as our due
Now the end is to begin
Tears yearn on the brink
Emotions weary and thin
It’s over and done
Trying hard not to blink
But, we had some fun
It just didn’t work
We part, both leaving
Both with a smirk |
