Little Soldier*{Comments Plz}*

Cheery winds, a yellow sun,
But now, the day has come.
Put down those toys,
And see the boys,
Our little soldier has come home.
The metals upon his chest shine,
How much he’s grown over so little time,
The stiffness in the welcome back,
Surely he’s on the right track,
Our little solider has come home.
Loving kisses and happy smiles,
As we greet the one who has gone miles,
But still there’s something wrong,
We hear his sad sweet song.
No longer is he our little soldier.

The gunshots blew into the sky,
The darkness creeps and time is nigh,
Bloodstained clothing of a million foes,
Tear stained faces and muddy clothes.
A friend beside you, one behind,
Hoping that the night won’t blind,
As chance falls,
A bullet calls.
Confusion and terror strikes your face,
As your friend falls out of place,
He cries out for his family,
Says “hope there’s a place in heaven for me.”
Watching the blood seep still,
From his chest the blood will spill,
Holding on for his dear life,
You cry and plunge in your knife.
You take your friends life to end his pain,
Knowing it won’t come again,
And as you watch his eyes close,
You know you must do this to the millions of foes.

As the family listens still,
Tears leak not knowing ‘til,
The sad sweet song now has people hold her,
As does that brave little soldier.
