You Think

And see the same thing
But it’s only what you want to see
You think I’m lazy
Just because I’m not up to your athletic standards
You think I’m a nerd
Just because you always see my head in a book
You think I’m a Satanist
Just because of my black nails and safety pins
But the problem is
You’re thinking
If you really knew me,
You’d know none of this is true
I have dreams
I have goals
And on every Sunday,
You’ll find me in church
I don’t care what I get in PE
It won’t help me in the future I foresee
You laugh at me for reading
But it helps with exactly what you’re doing
Thinking
When really you should just believe
And accept people for who they really are
And not how you think they are |
