Broken String
written by PalirBeauJeanne12:27 AM 4/20/05I can see through the blue eyes of a man
Doing all that he can
But there's still damage to bandage
And tears yet to weep
A million cuts slashed in deep
You can break through the brick walls of my heart
Our relationship torn apart
But there's still damage I can't bandage
A thousand problems I can't manage
Tossing and turning between the games we play
On and off, am I here to go or stay?
Watching and waiting, do I say something?
Our love dangles on a piece of string.
A risk to take, leaves my veins dry
As I contemplate a friendship gone awry
Promises left on a broken string
Our love was nothing short of a fling
Seeing deep into the blue eyes of this man
Who, I thought, could do more than he can
But there's still damage left unbandaged
My tears I still weep
Each night before I fall asleep
My heart holds a solid brick wall
And only you had the power to make it fall
This damage left unbandaged
And our problems left unmanaged
You were afraid to take a dive
To keep our love alive |
