EXPLANATION OF A KNIFE

it's too hard to describe,
the reason for why i cut.
i need the pain to comfort me,
for nothing else will.
i need to feel it slice my skin,
to make sure that i'm alive.
that one single cut is all i need,
to make me feel like i am whole again.
and it's all i have,
it's all i need... my knife.
and when i say to myself that i will stop,
by the end of the day is another cut.
and these scars keep coming,
but i do not care anymore.
just please try to understand,
that this is my comfort, my courage.
i won't let it slip away,
even though i say it will. |
