» Poem: Tears
Tears
written by HowlinWolf

Fighting a losing fight
Losing with all my might
I know of the loss deep within my heart
Now comes the hardest part
I know it; I'm giving in
I've no reason to grin
I've lost my wit
It hurts worse than being hit
I've only shame
I've already lost this game
Worse than spears
No more room for hopeful prayers
Wish they'd leave
Don't want to grieve
Upon one knee, I beg of thee
Why won't thy let me be?
No use trying to defy
All I can do is wonder why
The growing need has become too immense,
far too intense
I didn't beckon them hither
Feel as a flower, beginning to wither
I've lost it all
Now that they fall
I feel as though I've met my doom
Filled with gloom
Completely alone, on my own
Wishing for them to become unknown
Feeling no restraint
Knowing that which should be quaint
In my own feelings do I drown
Upon my lips, an endless frown
Allow me to wander astray
Let the tears fall just today

Author's footnotes and comments on this Poem:
This poem was written almost a year ago. It was written on a night I wanted to cry but couldn't no matter what. Now, when I'm in the same situation, I read this poem. Ironically, this is one of my favorite poems and possibly one of my best, though some of my friends may disagree. I hope you liked the poem, and all comments are welcome.
