Start Again

Taking what you can see
Now, getting out before its too late
When all that’s left is resentment and hate
Your greatest gift
Spat upon and set a drift
My pain vanishes too slowly
Feelings wane just an inch
Reflexes poised ready to flinch
From the hurt and the ache
The wreckage left in your wake
Alone with only despair
Not even wanting to care
But there is a new start
From you to me
To live again
And breathe clean air |
