the girl
written by blurredvisions07:08 PM 4/21/05``The words painted across her chest;
exposed and clear for all to see,
completely bare as she stands,
she hands them "the key,"
her hands are shaking,
as if shes still unsure,
But bravely she awaits,
How much more can she endure?
``The secrets are painted in red.
-Blood from her own
Silently she keeps painting,
making obvious of the unknown,
Her life looked so hopeless-
rotten with despair,
no one seemed to notice,
And no one seemed to care.
``Maybe they didn't believe her,
Perhaps they were too afraid,
it doesn't really matter why
because alone she stayed-
locked inside herself
with no one to help her out
they said they couldn't hear her-
as if she didn't shout!
``She cried to the heavens,
Screamed down to hell,
But the angels turned their heads,
And the devils laughed,"Oh well!"
there was no one to reach out to,
no one to help her on her feet,
quietly she struggled,
but alone didn't mean defeat.
``With no one to comfort her,
her parents screamed aloud,
mothers drunk again-
-broke the bond on which she vowed.
instead fo running to her pillow
only to cry herself asleep-
she searched for her voice,
And she found it way down deep.
``The words were filled with emotion,
Soaked with thought and tears,
And writing them took away the pain,
that had built up through all the years.
How could she be so brave?
And hold on for so long?
When no one would hear her out...
Yet still she stayed strong!
``She showed us the hope-
which had gone out of sight,
proved us all wrong; it was dark
but she searched for the light.
She gave us inspiration,
Once she showed us the way,
If it wasn't for this person,
I wouldn't be the person I am today. |
