» Poem: My Beauty Marks
My Beauty Marks
written by brokenxsmile

The beauty marks
On my lower arm
Are the markings
Of my self-harm
They're beautiful
And not too deep
Permanent reminders
Of memories I'll keep
They keep me company
When I'm feeling down
Keep my head above water
When I want to drown
They're my beauty marks
They're who I used to be
Each and every one
Has a different story
A different memory
A different life
A different razor
A different knife
My beauty marks remind me
Of the mistakes I've made
The regrets I've adopted
The feelings I forbade
They are my light
When it's getting dark
Always-with-me memories
My beauty marks
