» Poem: Drowning Face Up
Drowning Face Up
written by cryptic_misery
12:34 AM 4/22/05
Sinking below the shallow
Going under the surface of shame
Holding my gasping breath inside my lungs
While my vision goes blurry as I'm suffocating
My body strangles deep as every worry escapes me
As every word escapes me...
I hold myself down not letting a single care
Try to control the way I'm living now
Voices cannot reach me anymore where I am
Drowning in this tub of obliterating madness
Dying in this restriction of life
Where I've always longed to be...
My hand stumbles upon the plug, yet I have no energy
To try and pull it away
And let this blank wall consume me
I start to realize the expiration of life
Fulfills me, and perfection lies within
This new world, of frozen butterflies and
A resting eye... this water utopia has given me bliss
My hydrogen cancer wastes away...
