She sat up in her room,
Listening to the fighting,
Hoping it would end soon.
She hated these nights,
She hated all these fights.
She wondered why she was still there,
Why she was still just an open tear.
She saw beneath the hurt,
She heard the words,
But still she stayed,
Just to slowly fade.
These nights were lonely,
These nights were cold,
These nights every tear she had ever cried,
Stood so bold.
She had no hope,
Only fear,
Only each and ever tear.
The tears flowed all night long,
Just as they have all along.
She’d sit on her bed,
In the room she called her shelter,
In the room where no one saw her,
In the room where no one helped her.
She would sit and cry,
Trying to find ways to pass time by.
The bruises faded,
But the pain stayed,
And so did she,
Still afraid.
She’d awake,
To the crying,
To the souls which were slowly dying.
But she still stayed,
As everyone slowly began to fade. |
