Dark and Lonely Nights
written by intearsforever

Dark and lonely nights,
Wondering WHY WE FIGHT.

She wondered why she was here,
She wondered where to go,
What to do,
She wondered why she felt this way,
And why each night her BLOOD would FLOW.

The times she spent in despair,
When no one seemed to care.
She would sit up,
Wipe the tears away,
Ready for ANOTHER DAY.

But these days were torture,
When everyone seemed to hate her,
When no one seemed to care,
She just WANTED to YELL how it was SO UNFAIR.

But she kept silent,
She stayed compliant.
She wouldn’t lose her self-control,
For she had NOTHING MORE.

She became numb to pain,
To feelings,
She stopped complaining,
She stopped explaining.
She didn’t have the strength to fight,
She COULDN’T SEE the LIGHT.

Her feelings she pushed down,
She seemed the perfect lady to the rest of the town.
She didn’t speak,
Unless spoken to,
She didn’t laugh,
Not even when OTHERS do.

But deep down,
She would frown.
She wouldn’t let anyone see,
But she had nothing to live for,
She had NOTHING she wanted TO BE.

So she just sat,
Holding the tears back,
Ignoring the fact,
She was nothing,
She was useless,
Worthless,
Witthout any BLISS.

She would never be happy,
She would never truly smile,
She couldn’t,
She WOULDN’T.

She kept falling,
As her tears kept calling.
Her life was shattering,
Her soul was flattering,
But she would never know,
Because one night,
She took a FATAL BLOW.

The gun went off,
She fell to the ground,
And this girl was found.

All ALONE,
DESPERATE for LOVE,
CRYING RED BLOOD.
She was nothing but,
DEAD.
