» Poem: Blade
Blade
written by SilentScreamsofDeath
08:41 PM 8/22/04
Seven layers of skin
Hair follicles
Scattered sweat glands
Fat cells.

Half-domes of congealing liquid
over the film of oil and sweat.
spider veins become filaments

ink for the blade's nib

inarticulate soliloquies

deep borings belong on shoulders
and knees
shallow rifts on inner thigh
or parallel to stretch marks
of the hips.

scars must never be left
on forearms.
