day of the dead (short story)
written by Misery

November Second people crowd the streets. For the Day of the Dead. The day when spirits come back to their families to find peace. The people dance, sing, eat, and sell cute little things like candy skulls. People decorate the tombs and old rooms for the return of the dead. They put the dead's favorite foods, toys, , and drinks in the rooms. Skeletons, and small trinkets are hung, and sold on the streets along with flowers. But this November first everyone was so wrapped up in their own lives the forgot all about the deceased. The Mayor of that years said the celebration would be canceled. Without the decorations and celebration the spirits grew restless. They decided to revolt against the living. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh", It came from the Mayor's office. "You sick son of a -----" that's all the mayor's's body guard was able to get out before Dracula chopped his head off, and fed it to the ghouls. Dracula said, "You take the celebration from us, we'll bring a different type of celebration to you." He murdered the Mayor in a very grewsome way. Now there was no peace. There was animosity, and chaos, and mayhem all around. Dracula, and many members of the Undead along with likans, and demons walked the streets with other ghouls. They punished all those who forgot about the dead. Those who were spared didn't forget, and still hung pictures in memory of those who had passed. Those you did nothing for those who died suffered the worse torment and pain. Some got their limbs ripped from their body, necks broke in two, impaled, and even shinned alive. This last one week until all those who had forgot about the dead were punished. Dracula, and the others left their mark, and a message saying, "Never forget the dead. Believe in the Unseen."
