» Poem: what we heard
what we heard
written by TowelytheThing
12:10 AM 5/14/04
She uttered the words to you.
You looked blank.
I stared across the yard.
You were still.
My head ducked down.
And my smile,
Turned to a frown.
And inside tears fell.
Beneath my eyes.
Your eyes rolled.
As if you already heard.
And never spoke to me after.
