» Poem: The Other Me
The Other Me
written by DontFearAConcequence
05:49 AM 8/30/04
I stare blankly ahead in complete silence
Running through my head are scenes of violence
I may look peaceful but Im really in pieces
Im breaking apart, trying to hold it back
Because expression of feelings is what I lack
As day after day goes by
I wait and wait for this pain to die
Down my face runs tear after tear
Thinking to myself this could be my last year
This is the side of me that almost nobody knows
This is the side of me that very rarely shows
My emotions build up and eventually I burst
This happens a lot this isnt a first
Im usually okay until i start to think
I stare ahead forgetting to blink
I think about when I was always laughing
I begin to wonder...how did this happen
How did I go from a carefree little kid
To a depressed teenager who doesnt think she can handle it
Some days I think I cant wait for the end
Ive been hurt so much I dont think I can mend
As I continue to stare these visions I see
I cry at the sight of what used to be
Sometimes I think this life isnt fair
I result to physical pain cause this emotional pain i cant bear
Everyone thinks theres something wrong with me
They should lock me away and throw the key
Staring off...into space
I think I want to leave this place
Maybe in a year, a week, or even now
The next question would have to be how?
I dont know how I would get my hands on a gun
But I think that would be rather fun
I could use a knife, or maybe a rope
When Im gone people wont have trouble learning to cope
Im just a nuisance; all I do is cause trouble
And when Im with a friend it makes it double
Ill be better off if I leave
Then Im not around for people to deceive
Why cant I be how I used to be?
Why me...why have this "other me"
