Left behind

You used to be the best and more,
But times have changed mom,
You have too mom you have too,
You used to care about me mom,
What's all this about toughening up?
You said it never done you any harm mom,
So why are you like you are?
Do you know how much beltstraps hurt mom?
Do you really know the pain i'm going through,
I know i'll never be enough mom,
But will you at least let me try?
No you just keep on pushing me mom,
The bruises hurt sure,
But do you know what hurts more mom?
Not your fist against my face,
No mom that's not it,
The fact my own flesh and blood would do what she does,
The emotional pain mom,
The feeling so empty,
The knowing that I don't have you to turn to if i'm feeling sad mom,
I can only turn to you if I want to feel worse,
For this reason mom,
I'll stay beside my only freind,
The old apple tree mom,
That isn't a freind you used to say,
Well it's all i've got mom,
It's all i've got,
You just left me behind mom,
And took everyone else with you,
Every now and then you'd come back,
You'd only hit me and run away again,
But mom the problem is,
I still love you,
This cyanide mom,
This cyanide,
Will only be taken because of what you done,
Because you brought this down on me mom,
The apple tree will see my ending,
You'll just see my body mom,
I know this can't be much of a suicide note,
But I was never good with words anyway mom,
I could never scare people into being quiet,
I could never come close to that,
But now I say goodbye mom,
Now I say goodbye. |
