A dream in color

Softly it exists through this eye, then the right.
This old man he walks away from the rest of his life,
Like a dagger that cuts a narrow path through my heart.

And what ever happened?
To the boy that couldn't find his father?
Or to the father who couldn't hear his son?

Still, it fades and cascades off that place that took so much,
As the boys face pressed up against the glass,
Counting snowflakes that carry him home,
While foggy memories bind him to the past.

Wash away.
Wash it away.
Wash it all away.

And when they ask him to pay for this life, will he stay?
Or will he be washed away as the heavens open the very next day?

"Spread him out before me
And I will paint him with my tears."
