» Poem: End of my life
End of my life
written by Morbid Angel

When I see you after all this time,
It'll be hard but I'll let you walk by,
I'll try my hardest not to cry,
I won't let you be the end of my life

In time before I let you be my world,
But after time I let that become unfurled,
I let you slip away and It was all my fault,
I knocked down what we together had built

It tore me apart but now I have to be strong,
In your heart is no longer where you belong,
At this point in time it seems impossible to go on,
For the first time in my life I'm scared to be alone

But I won't let this be the end of my life,
I won't balance my wrist on the tip of a knife,
I'll just wait for the fire in your heart to ignite,
But I won't stop myself from crying before I die,
I'll wander the streets calling your name at night,
I'll wait for you...but you won't be the end of my life
