» Poem: Broken Mirror
Broken Mirror
written by Morbid Angel
12:03 PM 9/25/04
I looked into you as I sat and cried,
I looked deep inside myself,
Through those teary eyes,
And I saw what everybody said there was,
Just a devil in disguise,
An ugly little freak,
Behind those dull blue eyes,
I couldn't find the strength but I needed to scream,
I slammed my fist into you,
But the shards still remained,
I could still see the uglyness,
The only difference is this time it was bloodstained,
When I'd broken you I broke myself too,
Glass slashed across my wrists,
I didn't know what to do,
Still not escaping my ugly reflection,
Still thinking of the pain and the hurtful rejection,
You are my mirror and you tore me to pieces,
You made me feel ugly and fat,
You made me stop eating,
You made me make myself sick,
Just so I could be perfect,
But none of this was working,
You are my broken mirror and I still can't escape you,
You're everywhere I go, and theres nothing I can do

mirror's are a broken sanctuary to wrongful thoughts and a home to everything false.. you are beautful, you are slim, you are no devil, you are believing a lie
