The Girl Who Got Away With Murder

Eyes like ice and a dark past,
Full of Thursday night rituals,
Today I look through it and tell you
This pain it won't last.
I'll beat the motherfucker out my heart,
I'll take it inch by inch and pull it apart,
Though each shard cuts and tears
At my lungs,
They'll heal with time and care.
I can make it through this I swear,
I promised you I would,
As I run my hands through your hair.
This wound i've long buried,
You've opened it up with a twist
Of your perfect little wrist.
I thought I could trust you
I thought I could tell you all the truth
But I guess leaving me crushed and broken
Is what you do best,
Hell, better than the rest.
You killed the little boy in me
You got away with murder,
I'll NEVER forgive myself for that great blunder,
I'll never again remember that little kid,
Or be that man I wanted to be.
Yet I wear this scar cause I want the world to see,
That the girl who killed the kid in me
That bitch,
She got away with murder.
Now I stand and when I fall
I'll catch myself,
I don't need anyone at all.
I'll keep telling myself that,
To believe the lie
That wears me like a cloak. |
