» Poem: Last Winter
Last Winter
written by Mars_Phoenix

Last winter I followed you home,
Down pebbeled pathways and cobbled roads,
You led me to a place I'd lost long ago,
An empty house built of black and charred wood
A house which held for me,
Memories of sanctuary in a town where I couldn't be,
The person I wanted the world to see.

And in this moment I hold her tight,
So perfect as she stands in the light.
An embrace I could never let go,
Even now as you walk away through grassy mazes
And little pink houses in a big blue town,
I'll still hold onto the moment that I had you,
And know that although you let go,
I'll never let go of the memory
Of having you for one night in my arms.

So in this house i'll sleep on broken floor boards,
And walk through clear rooms of empty shadows And look out upon the town
That gave me the girl I'd always wanted.
The girl that made me see,
She made me see me.
