This Blade
written by Morbid Angel04:47 PM 10/8/04I'm certain that I need you but your always in some other place...
This blade will keep me company on my one-person-date,
My wrist kisses this blade and a smile spreads over my face,
I wouldn't be bleeding like this if only you'd stayed.
This blade feels like my only friend in this never ending story that I call life, It's against all my problems and this mirror that I fight, trying not to bleed as I look towards the knife...this isn't how it was supposed to be, you were supposed to be my side.
This blade will help me and it won't ever leave,
it won't do the same thing you done to me,
In one way it's my life but in another it's my worst enemy,
It's holding me away from all that I could be.
I'm starting to cry and I'm starting to hate this blade, wishing that you would be here because I need to be saved, Slowly forming into a shadow as I fade, if you had any idea how much for you I prayed, maybe you would never of left, maybe you would of stayed.
This blade is tearing me apart and slashing at my wrists,
I know you think I like it but I have no control of this,
It won't be long until I cease to exist,
But this isn't the end for this story takes a twist
I said I would break free from this blade that keeps me locked away, so now I'm trying to heal my wounds, taking it day by day, slowly I think I'm starting to feel ok, this blade sits in it's coffin as I find my own way, it won't be me that dies, i'll leave this blade to decay. |
