Look Past my Eyes and See

All my life is locked behind those cold hard lies
I live seeking whatever I can not ever get
My life boils down to nothing, from every little bit
I just want to escape this freezing tomb inside
But failure conquered all, no matter how I tried
Behind this disguise, my life has unhearingly spoken
That my life is hopeless, and my thoughts are broken
In this cave of darkness, contains the face behind my lies
And for any who find it, there is a bitter surprise
All who you know, when you look at my face
Is all illuminated, just to show this disgrace
You take me apart, can't put my back together
My life is as shaky in the wind as a feather
My words always spell lie, no matter what they are
Now you know my true self has been kept in a jar
I keep my smile, in a dish at the front door
For all those who know me, look again, look more
Look past the smile, look past the word
Anything you know of me, to me, is absurd
If you want to find out what's behind these cold eyes
You'll just have to claw your way through this disguise
And see the person who is really me
Just peel my life back, and look who you'll see |
